I'm having the same problem, and am in Chiang Mai. I can't even watch CNN at all. And sometimes I just get the "red triangle" like I am visiting a locked channel, or I get a message to check my cables, power, etc, like when it rains a lot ....and the TV goes out totally.

Lots of Brit expats seem to prefer Sky News and pour scorn on the BBC channel. All they are doing is expressing preference for watching news of their home country. Nothing wrong with that but no need to diss "BBC World News" which is what it says on the tin and is not the same thing as the BBC News channel you would get in the UK.

I watch both and I watch Channel News Asia, which is good for Asian regional news. I would watch Al Jazeera if I had it - they are excellent newscasters.

Fox News is an entirely different kettle of fish. Pure unabashed rabid tea party lobbyists. I turn to it occasionally to stare in wide-mouthed disbelief.

Horses for courses.
