The photos disappear from here because Mr Hitchens did something else - a correction with Aviary for example - with them but they are still on his Flickr account; you can verify .

Before register the new photo he did, Flickr ask him :

" do u want to replace the photo or create a new one ? " and like I do with mine, he answered " replace" so it's not exactly the same and disappear here ...
