PHUKET: -- Anti-narcotics police yesterday rolled up a gang of four drug dealers and seized 3,648 methamphetamine (ya bah) pills and 70.58 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ya ice).

Following a tip-off that Supawadi “Na” Sangwong, 37, of Pa Khlok had become a major vendor of meth, undercover police were assigned by Pol Maj Ong’ard Pewroengnon to buy 20 grammes of ya ice from her.

After a price of B44,000 had been agreed, Supawadi assigned her boyfriend, Nawin “Keem” Kareem, 28, to organise delivery of the drugs and collection of the money.

At the appointed time, Nawin called to say that a messenger would be meet the buyers at a Family Mart convenience store in Koh Kaew to deliver the drugs and take payment.

Police grabbed the messenger, 18-year-old Thammarat “Oma” Thinkohyao, searched him and came up with a bag of ya ice and 10 ya bah pills. During questioning he admitted that he was the one hired by Nawin to make the delivery.

Police then set up an ambush in the car park of the Mission Hospital where Thammarat was due to meet Nawin to hand over the money received from the undercover police.

Everything went smoothly, with officers moving in to arrest Nawin as soon as the money was in his hands.

They then took him to his home in Damrong Rd, close to Provincial Hall. There they found Supawadi asleep, and more narcotics on top of the fridge and on a table next to the couple’s TV.

They also found a set of digital scales, a book listing drug buyers and a .45-calibre automatic pistol, all of which they seized, along with a cell phone and a Honda Wave 100 motorcycle.

At the police station, under questioning, Supawadi and Nawin admitted that that there were more drugs stashed with Nared “Alift” Dudpayak, 18, at his rented room in Rassada.

Once again they set up an ambush, Supawadi called Nared and told him to bring the drugs to the 7-Eleven store close to his room. Police lay in wait and grabbed Nared as he handed over the drugs.

All four were charged with possession of Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell. Nawin was also charged with unlicensed possession of a firearm and ammunition.

One thing's sure to help them. No treatment and 10 years in a dungeon prison. rolleyes.gif

10 years? More like life with that amount. One thing's for certain there isn't any such thing as loyalty in Thailand - they sing like those birds in cages on competition day.
