Pridiyathorn tells Kittirat to stop lying

2-6-2014-12-16-55-PM1-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Former deputy prime minister and finance minister Pridiyathorn Devakula told finance minister Kittirat na Ranong to stop lying about the rice-pledging scheme saying it was useless as now the people have lost faith in him.

Speaking to FM 101.5 News Channel program this morning, M.R. Pridiyathorn recalled Mr Kittirat’s “white lies” to now “black lies” when he kept on lying about the failed rice-pledging scheme, saying he seemed to be a habitual liar who lies all the time as if he were not yet grown up enough to be an adult.

He said Mr Kittirat is a failed person with no capability since he started to take on the rice-pledging scheme in October last year.

He said as a deputy prime minister Mr Kittirata did nothing to manage the high 700 billion baht budget allocated for the scheme, thus resulted in more than 27 million tons of rice in the stockpiles.

He said 13 million tons were sold and more than 100 billion baht had been transferred to the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives.

He asked how could the remaining rice in the stocks be sold to settle the 500 billion baht debts.

Top government official should stop lying and open their ears and eyes to listen to others and take full responsibility for all what they have done wrong.

He said all the money that the government has spent was not in the hands of farmers but in the politicians’.

He said he decided to write an open letter to the caretaker prime minister and urged her to step down with hope that she would have enough conscience and could realize of the survival of the country as in the past few months, the country’s economy, investment, tourism and faith have been ruined so much.

He said the Yingluck government had failed in almost everything even her populist rice-pledging scheme.

Her said that the people lost faith in her government since her proposed national reform forum was not welcomed by many sides.

It was now apparent that the faith and confidence in the caretaker government had perished and therefore would make her to continue performing difficultly.

The country could not move forward, he said.

He also said when the voter turnout showed the majority of the people never wanted her government to return, she should devote for the good of the country.

Can't see that catching on too quick here whistling.gif

I don't know the law but of course she can resign. If for example their was a serious family emergency and she was unable to perform her duties as PM then she would resign or she would be asked to resign by her own party.

That's just applying common sense which is in short supply in the PTP

Tell Kittarat to stop lying? Might as well tell him to stop breathing, he can't, even if he wanted to.

One would think khun Pridiyathorn would stop holding himself back and just speak out and say what he means clap2.gif

At least one guy is telling the truth, and telling it like it is.

I counted 9X " He said's"

and a couple of " He ask's "coffee1.gifcoffee1.gif

You'll really love him when he gets back in power.

Just like the old days of the FBA... Which was him!!! Devekula really really hates foreigners, esp. the ones who live here.

Careful what you wish for guys. http://nationmultimedia.com/2007/02/10/headlines/headlines_30026486.php

Maybe you'll love him more after you've left the country due to their anti foreigner sentiments.

Indeed. This sabre rattling certainly got the UK's attention over Tesco.

Managed to get Thaksin visa removed in a trice.

"He said all the money that the government has spent was not in the hands of farmers but in the politicians".

Spot on.
So who has the money now?
It is really surprising that this rice scheme numbers are not disclosed.
No annual report?
Perhaps the biggest corruption theft of government funds?
Burke, lying, denying, obfuscating.
I hope those who have enriched themselves personally, this time not get away with it, and be locked up for long time.

Sorry, but I have no idea what your own punctuation refers to. I read neither a single 'He said is' nor a 'He ask is'. Complain with accuracy, if your complaint is valid.

He's right. Very clear and forthright. You can't argue with the facts. Apart from all the graft that belabours this administration, the recently held poll was revealing. As the North and Northeast went through the election smoothly and without complication, and as most of the Pheu Thai support is centered in those regions - the 8 million votes that Pheu Thai attracted - half of what they attracted in 2011 - shows a significant decline from any conceivable standpoint. Over 68 % of the country either didn't show up or voted " no ". But the urgent imperative is the constitutional vacuum that has been formed, and the criminal investigations that are proceeding. From a constitutional standpoint, the Yingluck administration will lose it's caretaker status on April 1, as neither a parliament nor a prime minister nominated from it will have taken place. Article 7 will at that point take over, an interim prime minister appointed, put forward by nomination in the Senate, and the reforms will go forward. The constitution will have the final word.

Rubish, i have known him for more than 30 years and worked with him a long time ago and he was always polite and kind.

From white lie to BLACK LIE.... that made my day... clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

and tell the soi dogs to stop barking and the fish to stop swimming

It may well be that he has a personal agenda (or he may just feel speaking up is his duty) but he sets out the case against this disastrous government very well. For those who haven't done so his open letter to Ying Shin is worth reading in full. The BP website has it.

That's the way, in absence of any defence............. scaremonger coffee1.gif

The Lying King can't stop lying.... that is what he does. Take that away and what's left?

Anyway, it's immaterial as he's is almost certainly going to be dumped by the Boss Cat in order to try and restore some credibility in a desperate attempt to secure a loan from somewhere.

Bring on the defamation suits, unless of course Kittirat admits that the statements are true and realises he has no chance of winning in court.

Never thought I'd cheer a bank manager. clap2.gif

Finally someone stepping up to the plate and saying it how it is. Refreshing.

What is the matter with you, Pipkins? Have some Thai people said something to upset you and make you so nervous?

I have lived here for more thn a quarter of a century and have never encountered xenophobia from any Thai. In fact, I am almost always treated with kindness and even excessive respect, whether in an Isaan rice paddy or mixing with the "elite" you seem to despise so much.

All your comments on xenophobic Thais are fatuous and without basis. In fact I suggest you are as big a liar as Kittirat.

Why don't you give it a rest? Your side is losing anyway, so get used to it.

I think Pridiyathorn hit the nail on the head when he states the failure of the PTP, how much success have they achieved and how many failures and how many lies from the PTP as to why they failed, the PTP failure list is to long to mention here, but gee its ordinary and far from satisfactory.bah.gif

From that article:

"The amended law was introduced in the aftermath of the sale of Shin Corp to Temasek Holdings of Singapore, which allegedly used nominees to overcome the foreign-ownership limit."

And the FBA was amended to stop nominee ownership. How does that translate to xenophobia?

...........700 Billion.............where has it gone.........

Kittirat has got to stop covering for his boss.

As TDRI already said the rice-pledging scheme was bankrupt even before it started.

The breakdown:

The government buys rice from farmers for about 30 baht/kilo (guaranteed 15,000 baht/ton).

The government sells its rice stocks to middlemen (in cohoots) for 10 baht/kilo

The middlemen sell it to rice millers for 20 baht/kilo.

The government and the middlemen split the 10baht/kilo profit.

The government will never be able to pay off all the farmers because they are selling it at a loss of 20 baht/kilo.

Want to sell the 10-14 million tons of rice in stock? (I doubt there is that much actually in storage)

Tough because the quality of rice in storage is unreliable with the high quality stuff mixed with low quality and moldy weevil infested stuff.

Local buyers are not willing to pay over 15 baht/kilo because they have to hedge the risk that after sorting the quality of rice they are left with an unknown quantity of quality rice.

Foreign markets don't trust the quality of thai rice because they know of our corruption problems and of the storage quality problems.

G to G sales? All fake as the G to G to China was never a real. How could China commit to buying 5 million tons of long grain rice over 5 years = 1 million ton/year when their national quota is approximately 2.6 million tons of long grain rice/year and they're buying from India, Pakistan, Vietnam and many other countries already?

The NACC has already found out that the G to G with China was fake and not officially authorized by the Chinese government. It was all a ploy to skim profit off selling government rice stocks to middlemen.

This was all testified by witnesses (rice millers) called up by the NACC and on record.

Waiting for the NACC verdict.

It doesn't (translate to xenophobia) but does translate to 'shoot the messenger' when one doesn't like what he says.

Actually the current CMPO 3 stooges are rather displaying how they 'love' foreigners if they have the temerity to criticise the current corrupt lot.

...........700 Billion.............where has it gone.........

Hmm...didn't Thaksin recently brag about how the govt has returned $1 billion of his illegally gained money?

Be nice if someone could pass this on to the rice farmers wondering where their money has gone!

Also mentioning in passing that the PM, who can't find money to pay them has a personal fortune of over 600 million baht.

One day the poorer folk of Isaan and the north will wake up to how this greedy family has used them and, hopefully, make living in Thailand an impossibility for the whole clan.
