Check out what Joe Roggan and Graham Hancock have to say on youtube. Both have been claimed effective in treating addiction habits. I think Graham Hancock stated that Ayahuasca sends you out into the universe, whereas Ibogaine send you into yourself. As the Thais would say, "Same same, but different....

That is one of the most ill informed comments I've seen here in a long time. Yes, illegal drug consumption is a crime, as it is in pretty much every country in the world, ergo drug addicts are criminals. However, there is mercy and there is treatment. Addicts who are caught with drugs are offered the option of not being prosecuted if they voluntarily engage in treatment for an agreed period (typically 15-90 days). In the year 2011/2012 half a million addicts undertook such treatment. The government also provides free treatment for drug addicts at specialised government hospitals, including the Northern Drug Dependence Treatment Center (Chiang Mai), Khon Kaen Drug Dependence Treatment Center, Mae Hong Son Drug Dependence Treatment Center, Pattani Drug Dependence Treatment Center, Songkhla Drug Dependence Treatment Center, Udon Thani Drug Dependence Treatment Center and the renouned Thanyarak Institute in Bangkok. As for the attitude of Buddhists, Thamkrabok Temple runs one of the most famous drug treatment centres in the world. Again, treatment is free for Thais.

DMT is a component of ayahuasca. DMT is present in all living things, but ayahuasca is a combination of two or more plants, one of which contains DMT.

October 14, 201411 yr The only two South American country's where this is still legal is Peru and Brazil..it was deemed illegal in the Netherlands but the government was taken to court by a religious group and this law was overturned if the drug was administered as part of a religious ceremony. From what I understand it's a drug that you would want to do under some reasonable supervision i.e. A Shaman similar. Anyway unless country's have changed their stance that's the last stance I heard.
