Norwegian tourist found dead in Phuket apartment

PHUKET: -- A Norwegian tourist was found dead in his rented apartment in Patong on Saturday (February 8) by a maid who checked his room after he failed to come down for breakfast in his apartment building.

Tore Gulaker, 62, from Oslo, was found lying on his bed with an oxygen mask on his face. Kusondharm Phuket Foundation staff said they believed he had been dead for about 12 hours.

His body was taken to Patong Hospital for autopsy. Foul play is not suspected.

Mr Gulaker was one of three foreigners who died in Phuket over the weekend.

Must have been an oxygen tank to go with that oxygen mask.

He probably had an underlying history of medical problems.

Seems he was prepared with oxygen, but not a mechanism to reach out for help in an emergency.
