Could someone help. I just bought a new laptop and installed skype and google earth but they have noth installed in Thai. How can I be sure if I reinstall them this won't happen again?

I followed all links in English but for some reason the download manager kicked in and both have turned out in thai, I am using windows 8.

okay so found where I went wrong with skype but google earth doesn't give any language options it seems.

Some installer use a thing called UT8 it picks the language base on the PC's set up - in win7 you need to select English and a second step using advance tab and select something related to ut8 so it defaults installs to English or your language you use - I don't know where those are in window 8 but think maybe that is the area your problem lays. Downloading for an English page will still install in Thai if a step is missing in the PC's language selection and set up. If you wanted Thai you do the same making Thai the language. You can have English desktop and PC can still think it is Thai. Some installs can be forced after install or during but not all and google is one that never was forced - the PC set up had to be fixed to download and install properly.
