Chiang mai moat Park loss of helmet

Just want to inform others. Yesterday went jogging at the park at the corner of the moat. Left my helmet on the bike came back and it was gone. Now my helmet was probably worth only 700baht. But i did not lock it . If any of you go to the park i suggest locking your helmet on the bike. In 4 years 1st time some one had stolen from me in the LOS......oh well you have been warned....

Strange, as I didn't see any roadblocks around the moat or around town yesterday. That's the usual cause of helmet theft... knowledge that one has to ride through a roadblock shortly and not having one's own helmet. I don't want to take the chance that someone meets a friend and they decide to go somewhere together but one needs a helmet to do so... My helmet is worth more than my bike, so I ALWAYS lock it up well, despite the pain-in-the-ass factor involved.

Thats part of the reason why I bought a top box, as the saying goes..."out of sight, out of mind". IMO the top box is worth its weight in gold (Not to mention peace of mind when I go into malls etc)

Even the Lotus Express store up here in Mae Taeng has a reputation for helmet theft. Had two friends lose helmets there in broad daylight so it pays to always lock your helmet.

Theft is the one thing that makes me more angry than anything else, if you can't respect and leave alone other peoples property then you are the lowest of everyone.

A flippant statement but this I reckon is more common of westerners and my guess is your helmet theft was by a tourist.

Most bikes I believe do have a small peg under the seat to attach the helmet and locks it when the seat if closed...that's what I use when in a busy area.
