I have heard that there is a lot of animosity beween Spotlight and one of the newer Go-Go bars. My guess is that it has something to do with that.

Ain't no big deal, the police just had not been getting enough lately and needed some company.

Newer go-go bars? Could you elaborate, enumerate, - just tell us about them?

^ LOL.. 'Newer than Spotlight'. It's been there so long I wouldn't be surprised if Wat Chedi Luang was newer than spotlight. wink.png

It's kind of police business as usual. It's what they do. Often at the reggae bars too. I think it keeps them entertained.

probably just checking all the girls were over 80kg and 40 years of age

cheesy.gif ...but true.

They were probably checking to see if any of the remaining customers were actually awake.

Hmm - it was raided on the 13th - maybe someone was in need of dates for valentines ;)

Is Spotlight open again? If so, we can assume the staff satisfied whatever was exciting the police.

hope they leave foxy lady alone, spotlight never really did it for me.

Are there any "newer" go gos than Foxy, Spotlight and Star Six?

Good question. Inquiring minds like to stay abreast of social developments in Chiang Mai.

No one, absolutely no one, should be licensed or allowed to play the garbage that comes out of the speakers at foxy lady.

That's the fastest those girls moved in years! Maybe they were arrested for impersonating go go girls.

Maybe too many 40+ women hauled away by the trading standards police?

OMG................the BIB just closed down 33% of the nightlife in CM!!

This recent Go Go Bar raid should warm the little black hearts of the foreign "Vice and Virtue" police. Theses people kept berating a member of the CM Tourist Police on this site for having a benign web site identifying locations of CM bars that employ Go Go girls.

Don't forget John's place. It might not be a Go-Go bar anymore, but the ladies still have a hard time resisting a hansum man's charms

I'm still trying to work out how you can reasonably describe Spotlight, Starsux, or Foxies as Go Go s.

All are more of a shuffle or Go Slow club.

I worked in Manilla for a year or two and the places there make CM clubs look like retirement home socials.

Can't let it go can you......two posts closed already on this subject and now you want to wind people up to get this one same attention.

Please let it go ......it's not related to OP.

They went through a Golden Period when they were quite good and since I hardl\y ever visit them anymore, I'm stuck in the past.

We are well aware of the hypocrisy of several ThaiVisa posters. Trying to point it out to them is just beating a dead horse. They won't 'hear' it, and the rest of us already know it. Sit back with a bowl of popcorn and enjoy the show. It's better than politics, and makes just as much sense.
