Competent eyeglass repair ... where?

Featured Replies

I need someone competent.

The last time I went for help at some random optical shop, they destroyed my eyeglasses and then said, Sorry. Nice of them.

Looking for someone specific who is a real technician/specialist in eyeglass repair.

Best regards.

A little side note, i went into my local shop, you know the one on every corner or so, and they asked me to leave more than once because i was looking for a bargain and good service. All new staff than before.

(Don't you just love the 51.4567 % off signs up front, the thais don't even get that it must be a stab at humor. )

I was on my best behavior to no avail.

I could go on and on, rant over for now.

You probably have an idea of what we are up against.

I brought in all my broken glasses that i bought there, they did NOT want to see them or even consider repairs.

Sorry to hi jack your thread, maybe i should start my own, thanks.

There is a guy on Pattaya Tai across from TukCom a little more east.

It has been a while so I can't remember details, sorry.

Small shop eyeglass and watches sold & serviced.

He fixed a pair of specs for me that I thought were beyond hope.

Good luck.

The only place I'd go is EuroOptic.

The Optician is Dr Maria Abalon (Filipino) and they hire very competent and friendly Filipino opticians on contract from the Philippines. They bend over backwards to help you.

I believe she's married to a Thai, who runs the business side of things.

A couple of years ago I had them make up a new pair of glasses from an old frame. They don't do hard sell.

Those folks at the chain clearly work for commission, they did not deny it, and they are interested only in making a QUICK sale.

It is a shame because this is a kind of health care service.

That chain is more like glasses mafia, and every frame i bought broke in a very short period of time.

Sorry sometimes one must rant.

Good responses here so far!
