Villa Chengtalay Customer Rip Off!

Featured Replies

Every time I go to the new Villa at Boat Avenue, Cherngtalay, there seems to be a difference between the prices on the shelves and what is charged at the till. OF course the price I am charged at the till is always higher.

Example today, Oats on offer at Bt36, price at til Bt40. Yoghurt at shelf Bt48, price at till Bt52.

They just check the price, and refund the money never with an apology or explanation.

I am not too concerned personally about the amounts involved, but the practice, as you can imagine how much they must cheat out of customers over time.

Totally illegal and daylight robbery...just wondered if anyone else has come across this at Villa, and wanted to alert others of this practice...

Welcome to Thai Business Models 101. Everyone gets a lesson and there's nothing that can be done. Yep, it's a rip. Nope, it won't change.....ever.

It is not a ripoff if the scanner marks up the price. Might be a computer issue, not a "human" issue. Not updating the labels?

Maybe adding the VAT at the register? Price listed on the shelf could be pre VAT.

No, just simply too slow with price updates at the shelves. It is a new shop, they'll need some time to get their routine in.

I would take my custom - and money, elsewhere , on principal.

they make a lot on what customers don't notice. seems westerners are more likely to speak up than thais

I never look at the prices when i check out, ...just count items.

i was there yesterday an it seems to have gotten more stock in an the meat/fish selection is very good.
