Since many teams are already playing on a plastic/grass blend, I think this is an OK idea. The technology nowadays is far beyond the rubbish Oldham and QPR (and Luton?) used to play on.

ARTIFICIAL pitches are on their way back to high-level English football for the first time in 20 years after a ground-breaking meeting of the FA board unanimously agreed to embrace the new technology.

Nightmare recollections of tracksuit bottom-clad players chasing bouncy balls round the pitches at Loftus Road and Boundary Park during the 1980s have been consigned to the dustbin after the FA finally took it upon themselves to lead the English game into the 21st century.
Chairman Greg Dyke chaired the meeting on Thursday in which a 12-person committee, including former Manchester United chief executive David Gill, agreed unanimously to abandon the “grass-only” snobbery that has been prevalent in the professional game since Preston dug up the last “plastic” pitch in 1994.
Premier League teams could be forced to play domestic games on the controversial surface as early as next January as the FA look to cement their stance by changing the FA Cup rulebook when the FA Challenge Cup committee meet later this month – ideally to allow non-grass pitches in the competition all the way up to the semi-finals.

It will go well with your plastic fans Chicog....OK OK I know you ain't one but ya know what I mean.

I'm against this as it gives the home side too much advantage.

Give us mud and metal studs again....and terraces.......

Yeah I wouldn't really expect you to be up on new technology. You've had plastic at your place since 2002.

The Budweiser is free at Arsenal!

If you're stupid enough to pay 100 quid a ticket and drink it warm out of plastic cups, you dumb shits.

In Korea in World Cup '02 I wore a Korea shirt for their game against Poland, and the girls at the beer counter never charged me for another one for the rest of my games there.

so are you blaming that for their excessive use of the long ball? cheesy.gif

They never used to play the long ball, you could steer a pass with the accuracy of a Glock.

And if you remember, QPR used to try and aim throw ins straight at the ground.

And on the back of the x tra finance generated by the plastic surface luton got to the old div one, ie the prem for newbies, on it.

And after this years unbelievable rain in the uk its caused havoc not only with the pitch's but with so many clubs finances, there surely be a few more clubs on board,,, it makes sense,,, as does summer football, but there again ,,,,sense and football ,,,, ain't exactly a kin beatdeadhorse.gif
