Man shot dead on Ratchada road this morning

BANGKOK: -- A man was shot dead on Ratchada Road between soi 14 and 16 this morning, Sutthisan police said.

The body of 24-year-old Pornthep Tessakij was found along with a male and female companion who were both taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Pornthep was shot five times to death with a 9mm pistol. The authorities discovered fifteen cartridges in the area.

The investigation paralyzed morning traffic all the way to Rama VII bridge.

Man shot dead, pregnant friend wounded in clash outside pub

BANGKOK: -- A 24-year-old man was killed and his three-months-pregnant friend wounded in a pub shooting in Bangkok's Din Daeng district early Wednesday.

After the report of the 5.30am shooting on Ratchadaphisek Road, police found the body of Pornthep Thesakit with 10 gunshot wounds in the middle of road in front of Soi Ratchada 14-16 near a pink taxi.

Having collected 18 spent 9mm bullets from the scene, police also discovered a 9mm pistol in a nearby sand pile. Police were told that the victim's pregnant friend Ratree Khomlaem, 28, was shot in the stomach, waist and back and sent to Rama 9 Hospital.

Police investigation found that the victims and their friends had gone to a pub and got into an argument with another group, so the pub owner told them to settle the argument outside. The two groups then had another row and a gunfight leading to Pornthep's death. The second group fled.

Police inspected surveillance footages and summoned the victims' friends. Police were also trying to determine who owned the gun found at the scene.

Just one link, please. You must listen to tall tales or you are hanging out in a very, very, bad part of Chicago or Detroit. This is Ratchada Pisek Rd. which is well populated day and night. There are sure to be witnesses. I will not speculate as to the cause or engage in idle gossip.
