Registering a death of you Thai wife

Featured Replies

My wife is termnially ill and in Thailand she is 43 with stomach cancer. she as a uk indefinite leave to reamain. She as in the uk life cover but she will die in Her village she as refused Chemotherapy. What do I do in Thailand and what do I need for the Uk

Very sorry to hear about your wife.

Somehow this ended up in the "I drink too much" forum so I have moved it into Health.

I am not completely clear on the question, though.

Is she a Thai currently in the UK who wants to return to her village in Thailand to die? Or a Thai in Thailand who has a UK life insurance policy and you need to know how to claim under that policy after she dies? Or what?

Please clarify (include her nationality, current location and the question you want to ask) and I'll do what I can to help. Depending on the situation may need to move the thread again to another forum for best assistance.

Hi thank yoh she is THai in thaland with a Uk policy she as uk indefinite stay to remain yes

1, Yes I do I calim in the uk

2, What paper work do I need to get her in Thailand for the Uk

A death certificate will be done at the local Amphoe. The village head will be involved in getting it done.

You would then need to have it translated and possibly have it certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for use in the UK.

The insurance company will inform you of what documentation is required.

If you are British I would suggest you contact the nearest British Consulate , Honorary Consulate or the Embassy in Bangkok for further advice.

Very sorry to learn about the circumstance.

Your repeated post is not easy to understand.

If you need advice further to that already given you will need to be more specific about what is being sought.

I am in Chaiyaphum where would be the ministry of foreign affairs

Bangkok

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sri Ayudhya Road, Bangkok 10400 Thailand Tel. 0-2203-5000

The certification would be done at MFA Consular Affairs Department.

Department of Consular Affairs
123 Chaengwattana Rd., Tungsonghong Laksi Bangkok 10212

The best way to get the certification would be to pay a small fee to the translation service do it for you.

I found this that would be for registering the death of A UK citizen.

You must register the death according to the regulations in Thailand. You will be given a local death certificate.

This local death certificate will be accepted in the UK (it may need to be a certified translation of the document if it’s not in English).
