Needing car upholstery cleaned

Featured Replies

I must be looking in the wrong places, but I can't seem to find any place that can either shampoo or steam clean the seats in my car. I recently purchased a used Honda City, with cloth seat that are dirty, with a few stains. I'm sure there must be some detail shops with the equipement and experience to do such a simiple job? Thanks for any recommendations guys!

Sorry, I forgot to say that I live in Pattaya, so I am looking for a shop in that area. :)

i recently had a few quotes for a full deep clean over in hua hin .i nearly fell through the floor i was quoted 5500 baht ,i ended up getting the engine and outside done 300 baht and used my wet and dry vac on the interior left the windows open slightly all day to allow it to dry

please let me know what prices you get ,i thought it was dear

For some reason ... that defies logic ... it is extremely expensive to get the carpets and seats etc valeted. I recently cleaned the carpets and seats in my step-daughters car. I purchased a 2Ltr bottle of Carretex Interior Cleaner and selected a medium hard hand held brush (both from TescoLotus). You also need some cloths/sponges and a spray bottle... just read the instructions.

Took about half a day on and off ... gave me a break from golf!

Had mine done for 2000 and it was a waste of money because I parked the car and went to work, and when I came back they were done - in their own way. They didn't remove the seats from the car as agreed upon. I had it done at a car wash. 500 for each front seat and 1,000 baht for the rear seat.

Now, I just get a can of upholstery cleaner from Big C for less than 200 whenever I feel like doing any cleaning.

Yep they took 2 days to do nothing but remove the entire interior on my car though they claimed it was cleaned (they must have used damp cloth). I told them to leave everything out and I took it home and ended up doing it myself instead, mine was really dirty (you don't really realize how much until you begin cleaning with a good cleaner and see the results) so it took me 2 days but at least the result was remarkably better, like new in fact. Go to Villa market, they have one in Pattaya and get Simple Green, there is no better cleaner, a bit pricey but well worth it, I even tried to bring some to the detailer to show them but typical Thai's "no need"..

can i ask what you mean by that defies logic

Of course you may ... but seeing that you were quoted 5000Baht for cleaning the inside of your car I'm surprised that you are asking ... okay not hard to do, not expensive on materials and doesn't take that long ... and as someone pointed out they don't do a particularly good job anyway. But I suppose that the shop would justify :- Thais love their cars clean and shining so that others can admire ... so lets rip them off... so maybe it doesn't defy logic after all.

I looked at getting my 5-Series valeted (inside only)a couple of years ago before I sold it ... they wanted 2000baht+ ... it didn't really need doing so gave it a miss ... it looked nice anyway. I admit thought that if the seat fabric is very dirty then they may do a better job than the average person could ... if it's leather then you can do just as well as they can... my opinion anyway.

Of course if you use the wrong cleaning products then maybe you should have bitten the bullet.

Wow... Say it's not so... No place in Pats for getting the inside of a car properly detailed? I saw on another thread about a high end car care place the owner invested 5 million in setting it up... and has the staff trained to do a good job and to keep their nails trimmed.. Does anyone know the name and location of this place? Anyone use their detail service?

TIA

I bought a spray tin of car upholstery cleaner, a product of STP in Tesco's, it is brilliant stuff........thumbsup.gif

Is it a foam? Spray on and wipe off?

I put some scotchguard (can get from homepro) onto my seats now to help protect them from marks. Liquids bead up and run off. Can't beat leather seats for keeping clean though.
