kurgen Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 A chap I know wants to buy an 18" bell to stick in his bar. Anyone know where they sell them? Let me know or tell Kenny at The Boxing Roo Bar on 3rd Rd, cheers
udon Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Try a local ship's chandler or an email to the Whitechapel Bell Foundry.
Mobi Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Try a local ship's chandler or an email to the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. Or, if you can't wait for a new one to be cast, I think they once made a slightly bigger one that is presently sitting in the town square, Philadelphia. Might be a bit cracked though - like me
udon Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Kurgen, are you sure he wants an 18" bell, not 8". That size is usually cast for church towers and city centre clocks. Churches are a bit thin on the ground in Thailand.... Ask him again about the size.
chuchok Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 There are plenty of Bronze/Brass manufactures in Thailand. Look in the book.

Maejo Man Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 He has to mean 8" which was a standard size for ship's bells. An 18" would stand over two foot high and weigh over 100Kg Shops that supply temple "goodies" also sell bells of all sizes.
chuchok Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Try Mantra Decor I did I thought they sold "bells", or was that "Bell-ends"?

Mighty Mouse Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 There is a bell at the bar where Pattaya Fox drinks.............. It should be a bargain price because it's never been rung.
Pattaya_Fox Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 There is a bell at the bar where Pattaya Fox drinks..............It should be a bargain price because it's never been rung. It`s been welded to the bar so that the local vermin can`t nest under it
