Iodine - where to buy?

Wifey requires some iodine for a project.

Do any of you knowledgable types know where we can buy it on the island please?

It is for an experiment and not for medical reasons. Betadine etc will not do the job. We need the real McCoy.

There are water purification tablets made of a fairly pure iodine compound.. You might check sporting goods shops that specialize in hiking, camping, backpacking. etc.

When it dried it was invisible until you held it over a flame and the writing turned brown.

We used to use lemon juice. Same result when warmed over a flame.

I made ammonium triiodide crystals once with iodine. That was fun.
