Post #5 is not true. A Thai can own or purchase land regardless of what there name is. The only change after marriage (and that is true if name changed or not) is that Thai must purchase alone and declare the money as there's alone. They have full ownership rights.

Hmmm as long as people are still marrying the likelyhood of marriage visas ended are naught.
