The most effective and healthy way to lose weight is to go low carb i.e. ketogenic diet which entails high fat, low protein, low carbs. It is also good for cancer but you will certainly lose weight if you are overweight.

The difficulty is of course maintaining this approach over a long period.

Maybe you should also add something called EFT which will help with the emotional side of losing weight and keeping it off. It uses tapping and affirmations to help release negative emotions which may be what is holding you back in losing weight and keeping it off.

Usually you go high protein and high fat.....not low protein. If you want to speed it up you also reduce fat.

Is this something you have done personally?

If so, what percentage of your body weight have you lost, how long did it take, and how long did you manage to maintain that weight loss (if you did)?

I have nothing against anything on your list, but personally I don't think doing all that would generally result in RAPID weight loss for very many people. On the other hand, I think going for RAPID weight loss shouldn't be people's goal. It should be changing their lives for the long term, and that takes the long term.

Rapid fat loss is nice and encouraging but usually you should be real happy if your loosing a kg a week. You can loose more at times but its hard. In the end its all about lifestyle changes.

4 kgs. a month IS rapid weight loss,

Dear OP,

I have some good news for you.

Like you my wife and I struggle to control our body fat.

We have reduced carbs but still suffer from the withdrawal/cravings.

Three weeks ago we bought an end of line - dead cheap €85, vibration plate exercise machine.

The best exercise toy ever and we both look forward to using it several times every day.

Back problems and inner ear balance problems for my wife were fixed in two or three days.

For me, my weight initially went up whilst my %fat went down (using both a fat calliper and tape measure).

Now after three weeks my weight is going down as well.

I have gained belly muscle and lost fat so instead of my belly sticking out, the muscles are strong enough to keep it held in without any extra effort! (I suspect that our bone density is also increasing).

I have mostly cut out beer but still have wine daily.

My BP is also reduced and I have halved the medication. Soon I expect that I shall not need meds to control BP.

A bit too soon to be sure, but, it looks as if loose skin from fat reduced areas is also shrinking.

What a bonus it that's the case!

We return to Thailand next month and I will be on the look out for a second hand vibration plate machine.

If anyone knows of one near BKK, please PM me.

Best thing since sliced bread! (For us anyway)

PS

Sleeping better too.
