Hi i am hoping to become a "fulltimer" at the end of this year, i have just got a quote as to health insurance from BUPA, i am 67,fit as a fiddle, i know they put people in "boxes" no pun intended as to age, anyhow the quote came back as £ 440 - 61 a month or £ 5287 - 36 a year, pi** take surely, can anyone point me in the right direction as to health insurance and offer some advice -- thanks

1. Was this BUPA Thailand or BUPA UK? BUPA Thailand is less expensive.

2. Was that inclusive of OPD? Policies including OPD are extremely expensive and what you pay extra for OPD cover is almost the same as the maximum they cover i.e. it si almost worthless.

Look at BUPA Thailand, IPD only. Rates vary by level of coverage, and you are well advised to get the maximum cover (Platinum5), but it will be much less than the amount you mention. Probably in the vicinity of 70K baht a year.
