Suthep calls supporters to get ready for big ever demonstration after Songkran

BANGKOK: -- People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban told supporters Wednesday night to get ready for big ever demonstration after the water festival once the Constitutional Court will have a ruling on the status of the caretaker prime minister.

He said “Be ready to come out in full force again and this might be the last time to oust this illegitimate government from the country.”

Suthep said the Constitutional Court has given caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra 15 days to defend herself on the petition filed against her by a senator for power abuse in removing the former National Security Council (NSC) chief Thawil Pliensri from the post just to pave the way to appoint Pol Gen Pliewphan Damapong to the national police chief.

Gen Pliewphan is the brother of Khunying Pojaman na Pombejara, ex-wife of Thaksin Shinawatra, he said.

In the petition by the senator Phaiboon Nititawan, Suthep said, Yingluck first transferred the then police chief Pol Gen Wichien Pojphosri to be permanent secretary to the Transport Ministry, and then transferred Thawil from NSC to be advisor to the prime minister at the PM’s Office.

She then appointed Pol Gen Pliewphan to sit in the top national police chief post, and appointed Lt-Gen Paradorn Patthanathabutr to the NSC top post.

He said the unlawful removal prompted the former NSC chief Thawil to petition the Administrative Court.

In the Administrative Court, Thawil told the court that he was never asked for advice by the caretaker prime minister though she has appointed him to give advice on national security matters.

The court agreed and ruled in favor of him. However Ms Yingluck petitioned to the Supreme Administrative Court and lost.

Final ruling by the Supreme Administrative Court reached with a vote of 9-0 that Yingluck’s transfer of Thawil was unlawful, and an act of power abuse which is against the Constitutional because it just meant to be an advantage to her relatives. The court ordered that the NSC post be returned to Mr Thawil within 45 days.

Following the Supreme Administrative Court’s ruling, the senator Phaiboon then petition the Constitutional Court to rule the caretaker status of Ms Yingluck and her cabinet for power abuse, citing the Supreme Administrative Court’s verdict.

The Constitutional Court accepted the senator’s petition for testimony with asummon for Ms Yingluck to defend in 15 days.

Suthep said that the fate of Ms Yinglukc would be decided by the Constitutional Court in 15 days.

He then advised all supporters to have a brief break, celebrating and visiting their parents and elders during the Thai traditional New Year but get ready for the ruling.

The day when the court will have a ruling will be the day of mass rally, Suthep said, anticipating of anger and dissatisfaction by Yingluck’s redshirt supporters who have made clear several times they would not accept the ruling of the Constitutional Court.

But Mr Suthep said in case the court ruled in favor of Yingluck, the PDRC would still protest until she was overthrown on other serious crimes she has committed to the country.

They were ready to accept any ruling by the court, but the redshirts would never and would turn to violence, Suthep predicted.

One thing for sure, Suthep knows what the verdict will be, because he has already given the court their instructions !

Suthep says, "get ready for biggest demonstration" thought he had that one already along with his tenth final rally...................can't help laughing at this nutcase and also the sheep who keep on listening to him.

Gosh yes, and there are no other members of Suthep's family in positions of power right? And there was no corruption in Thailand before Thaksin, right? How can you type this stuff with a straight face?

You and your likes always like to comment past events that are irrelevant to now. In case you ever start looking at the present. Thais are warring over these things now and trying to end corruption like this. What happened before does not matter. Sure it was wrong before the same as it is wrong now. People know this and want it ended.

The only corruption this guy wants to wipe out is the Shins. his corruption doesn't matter nor anyone else s. Once he gets his cronies in power it will be the same as we have now. Thailand going around in circles.

Would Thailand's englash language media please, please, please hire some native english language speakers to at least proof read their material.

Pretty please.

Maybe you should proof read your own before calling on others to do so? 3 mistakes in less then 25 words means they are unlikely to ask you to be their proof reader.

Is this idiot preaching another final push?

No, he's just making clear that he will not give up before the goal is reached.

What goal?

"you put the phone down"

"no, you put it down"

"ok I'm putting it down", "I'm putting it down this time", "this is it, I'm putting it down", "no really, I'm putting it down", "finally I'm going to put it down"

"Suthep, you're dumped"

I think that the world already recognises him for the corrupt fascist would be leader that he is . This is why he is largely ignored on the world scene.

The task is not completed yet once the Taksin regime and all his corrupt monk kicking thugs have nothing to do with running the country, then he will be recognised as one of the biggest graft busters in History and then you will see how much a country with minimum corruption is respected world wide.

I wonder how many of Sutheps sheep could look him in the face and say Please dear leader, can you tell us that you have never been corrupt, and why did you not do something about corruption whilst you were deputy PM., apart from getting your snout in the trough

says the guy who is an ardent admirer of the puppet and her most corrupt ever family and relatives! cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Anyone who believes that Thaksin will suddenly stop interfering in Thai Politics with the removal of his sister from power is deluded, he will just buy his way back and start manipulating someone else/party, and everyone is corruptible, it's just knowing what price you're willing to have as your breaking point.

I honestly don't know how all you supporters of Suthep are not all tired of his claims? I guess if you keep repeating the mantra, it may come true, It's bad PR repeating this final push/biggest ever protest, his numbers are down, and some are in denial that they are, he needs to rethink his estimations as to the crowd sizes, yes he does draw big crowds, no doubt about that, but the turnouts are not as he claims.

As per Thaksin, does anyone really believe that Suthep will take a back seat and no longer be involved in Politics or the running of the country? He's not doing this for nothing, nobody commits to this much without having an agenda, maybe it's already been agreed that he's going to be given the old wink and the nod that once PTP falls, he rejoins the Dems as leader, and is then elected into the big chair?
