Advisory: 'Buggy' MS Update for IE 11 under Win7

Featured Replies

Good Day.

Just discovered a 'buggy" MS Update released 8 April 2014, title:

'KB2936068 Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7'

After installation and restart, could not connect to AIS 3G service as normal and received msg:

"Incorrect username or password".

Contacting AIS Help did not correct problem - very good service, good English, but could not provide solution. After uninstalling this particular update, problem resolved, all back to normal.

Be wary of allowing MS Update to go ahead and install it!

Good luck, or Chok dee whatever your orientation...

Thanks for that.

Of the 11 "Important Updates" it is the only one not ticked.

I wondered why; if it's so important why isn't it automatically included with the others?

^ I am running Win8 so I am just speculating here.

Maybe it's because you first should install the other "selected" updates and afterwards that specific update ???

I installed all the Win 7 updates today on my Toshiba laptop to include the one mentioned by the OP...works fine....but I connect to my home Wifi system not the AIS 3G service.

I also installed Win 8.1 updates today on my Lenovo laptop which had the IE11 update also (to include the "Win 8.1 Update 1" which was 887MB in size just by itself)....another uneventful install....everything works fine.
