House of top health official hit by M-79 grenade, no injuries

BANGKOK: -- An assailant fired an M-79 grenade into a residence of top health official in Lak Si district early Monday morning but there were no reports of injuries.

Police were alerted shortly after midnight that residence of permanent secretary Narong Sahamethapat in Soi Changwattana 14 was hit by explosion. At the scene, police found that the blast slightly damaged walls of the house and a vehicle parked inside the house.

Amorn Sahamethapat, sister of Narong, told police that she heard the sound of explosion in front of the house before that of a motorcycle speeding away. Narong was not in the house at the time of the attack.

Police quoted bomb squad as saying the grenade was an M-79 fired from north of the house and about 15 meters from the house. They will examine footages of the security cameras near the house to find the assailants.

Narong is known for his stance against the caretaker government and he was criticised for his warm welcome for rally leader Suthep Thaugsuban to the ministry for discussion.

Considering that these terrorists are actually being aided by the police, I doubt it is even worth looking at CCTV footage.

It needs to be an attack on a red shirt UDD target to get an investigation going.

Anyway.... we all knew Narong would be next.

We will never get to know who launched the grenade. The Sheeple will say that it was The Red Shirts. which is what was required.

CAPO and the police have yet to find one assailant of the protesters yet. Despite well over 1,000 injuries and deaths. Other than the "pop corn" gunman. Who's face was covered. Others, who were clearly visible in CCTV shots, have never been found.

So yes, we'll never know who launched the grenade.

I wonder if maybe this isn't the best way to ensure a safe and free election. Eliminate the opposition.

Seriously, their tactics would seem to be intimidation. Continue to keep people too afraid to campaign, run, or vote for anything but PTP. It does seem to be escalating. How many years of this before Thailand resembles North Korea? All of this political intimidation must stop, on both sides. No more intimidating businessman to cancel concerts for non-redshirt performers. No more breaking up political meetings. No more excrement throwing. No more bombings. No more shootings. No more monk-beatings. No more silence when supporters do these things.

I am impressed by the courage of the people taking a stand against the violence, the PTP, corruption etc. They must know by now what risk they are running. Good luck!

If these were all false flag attacks, the police would have found and arrested most of the culprits. In fact, they probably would have caught them in the act as it's not a big secret who the likely targets are. How many police does it take to stake out a handful of homes and offices. (Okay a double handfull). So I do agree that we will never get to know who launched the grenade. They won't be looked for.

Ah smart money is on the red shirts, they are known for violence and their followers not the brightest bulbs.

If for instance the trad massacre was done by anti government it would have been found but the reds leaders cheering about the massacre of kids on their meeting is widely videod so that cant be denied.

The fact that the reds burned down BKK same thing.

Reds are one with violence not so strange as their leader is a convicted criminal.

Sometimes the simplest explanation is the right one

"Ockham's razor (also written as Occam's razor and in Latin lex parsimoniae) is a principle of parsimony, economy, or succinctness used in problem-solving devised by William of Ockham (c. 1287 - 1347). It states that among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected. Other, more complicated solutions may ultimately prove correct, but—in the absence of certainty—the fewer assumptions that are made, the better."

I am sure the Army has a good idea who these people are. Perhaps not the actual trigger-pullers, but certainly the ones who are making the business happen. And I am sure that if and when things get nasty, there will be a whole spate of killings, many at radio stations, and no one will know who did it. The network of hardcore reds will just have to be thinned considerably, with the radio stations taken out, hardware and weapons recovered. The actual rice farmers themselves are not up for a fight, they just think they are. As soon as the bullets fly they will realise they didn't sign up for this. The hardliners will be ready for it though ..... and there will only be one winner. And it is a pity, cos how can democracy move forward when this kind of uniformed intervention is necessary? ....

Actually the police already know as they correlated the grenades used in attacks earlier this year with the numbers found on the the one that the reds were caught with recently. Strangely we are yet to hear what the police have done about that as the army people are no longer involved so we can assume they simply brushed it under the carpet after locking up a couple of them to make it look good. Strange that when they even have the evidence needed to charge people they dont do it when it involves reds, one eyed police, never..........

I know. I think most everyone in Thailand knows. I am unaware that this or the other 200-300 grenades thrown at the protesters was ever meant to be a "secret". You should understand that in Thailand, what is said in public is only meant to be socially correct, there is no obligation to speak the truth and one is often obliged not to. It really confuses foreigners until they get used to it.

Promote anti corruption was the responsible of the government funny things when the banners hang in hospitals many people are offended such words if they didn't done wrong why they so afraid such words, Mr Narong didn't done wrong he needs to promote corruption free in health ministry as some over charges drugs really hurts the poor people and tax payers money.

Only bad people couldn't accept good things and start making trouble.

Permanent Secretary for Public Health working as usual after home attacked
By Digital Content

BANGKOK, April 21 -- Permanent Secretary for Public Health Narong Sahametapat was working this morning as usual after his home was attacked using an M-79 grenade shortly after midnight.

Police said the grenade struck the wall of his home in Chaeng Wattana Soi 14 at around 12.30am.

The explosion caused a 10-15 cm hole in the wall. His car parked inside was slightly damaged but no one was injured.

At the time of the blast, Dr Narong was not at home.

He told reporters this morning that he was fine and would work as usual. He was scheduled to go on a duty trip in Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Declining to answer whether he would ask for security personnel for safety, Dr Narong earlier welcomed the anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban, the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) secretary to his office and accepted a golden whistle from Mr Suthep on behalf of the ministry.

He also defied a Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) order by ignoring its request that he attend a briefing organised by the centre. (MCOT online news)

The Police just about proved this when earlier today they said

""""""""" The Royal Thai Police have wound up "Leave your house with police" during the Songkran festival" project - they now plan to extend it.

The project, conducted from April 11-20, Cared for private houses during the water festival when householders had left town to visit relatives upcountry. ...................

You will notice no mention of this home getting attacked

Didn't take long. Give it a rest - who do you think you're kidding?

We will never get to know because Thaksin's police force or investigative agencies won't make the slightest efforts to apprehend those guilty.

Speak out against Thaksin and his gang and face the consequences. Hail Shin Democracy.

Dr Narong’s home attacked with M79 grenade

4-21-2014-10-57-02-AM-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- The home of Dr Narong Sahamethapat on Chaengwattana 14 was attacked with a M79 grenade last night, causing damage to his car and the wall fence.

Dr Narong, the permanent secretary of the Public Health Ministry, said that he was unshaken by the grenade attack at his home but would continue to perform duty as usual.

He said that he would have an audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn who will be visiting a mobile medical unit in Hua Hin Monday.

He asked the public to judge by themselves if what was the reason of the grenade attack on his home while reluctantly to point his finger to politics.

The attack last night left a big hole on the wall fence of his house and damage on his car parked inside.
Nobody inside the house, including Dr Narong, was injured.

Thung Song Hong police chief Pol Col Atip Pongsivaprai said it was initially suspected the attacker fired the 40 m.m. grenade from the north of the house about 200 meters away with target on the house.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) chief Pol Col Kamthorn Ouicharoen inspected the house late this morning said the attacker aimed to intimidate occupants in the house.

Dr Narong is the only permanent secretary who defied order of the Center for the Maintaining of Peace and Order (CAPO) to a meeting of all department heads last week.

CAPO advisor Surapong Tovichakchasikul, also Foreign Affairs Minister, earlier threatened severe disciplinary action against the defiant doctor.

Dr Narong earlier showed full support to anti government protest and the PDRC by ordering all hospitals yo display banners rejecting corrupted government.
