I plan to travel from Thailand to Myanmar on my own Thai registered motorbike. Anybody have done this already ? Experience ? Procedere?

As far as I know there isn't an agreed upon system for this to happen yet.

(Would be happy to be corrected by anyone who knows a border where this is already allowed, although I am fairly confident there aren't any yet)

It has been done though.

Best procedure is to contact Myanmar Travels and Tours (under the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism) and discuss arranging an itinerary and permits with them

You will need to be more specific than you were here however, you made no mention of where you wanted to enter Myanmar and the route you want to travel.

One other suggestion is to contact some motorbike riding forums in Thailand, as I know there are a few that have been doing these kind of trips already and might be willing to part with some advice.

Good luck

I did a day trip into Tachilek last week on my bike. Two copies of passport and my green book + green book in hand. Shuffle back and forth between customs window and immigration. Received two copy's of papers that had to be presented upon return. Drove off across the bridge, paid 500baht to Myanmar immigration, got stamped in and kept my passport (usually day trips they give you temp passport document and hold your passport). Returned at 6pm..handed my papers to Thai customs..the only cost was 12baht for the 4 copies mentioned earlier.
