Hello,

Has anyone had experience with orthopedist at public hospital, Chula or Siriraj, etc.? I have knee pain that's been treated before and I know the insurance won't pay, and I suspect this time I need an MRI, etc. Also want to get second opinion on herniated disk. I speak some Thai so can get around.

Do you mean that can be accessed via the private channel of a government hospital? As you cannot choose your doctor through the public channel.

Though both Siriraj and Chula have private channels I cannot determine which docotors are accessible through them. In case of Siriraj you can call and ask ( call center 1474; http://www.siphhospital.com/en/index.html ) in the case of Chula so far as I have ever been able to determine there is no way other than to go in person to the "clinic nok wela" (13 thf loor, starts about 4 PM) and ask

Spinal surgery is an ortho sub-specialty and there is a definite advantage to consult a spinal specialist so yo uare looking at 2 different docs, not one.
