I have recently (foolishly I think) downloaded the Mavericks OS for my Mac (Snow Leopard before) and am having trouble with a few things. Most annoying is that I have the Mac linked to my Plasma Tv which was effected under Snow Leopard by mirroring and an icon appeared at the top of the screen which I could easily turn on and off. With Mavericks I can see no similar system although it does seem to automatically locate the TV and give me a picture. I had to tinker with the resolution to get it to a reasonable size and now having turned the TV off I find I have a 1 inch gap at top and bottom of my Mac screen (1920 x 1080 max resolution level) and no amount of adjustment of the settings seems to get rid of it.

Am I being thick? Can anyone help with a simple solution?

I don't think it is Mavericks that has caused the problem, I have Mavericks,.... I have set to 2048 x 1152.... but on 24" Thunderbolt screen and that's OK....

I would think the Imac 24" would give same result in filling the screen???

I have not had the Telly, set up for viewing, for a while now, but if memory serves you should be able to get it right... it might be in your television settings.... sorry I can't remember at the moment....facepalm.gifperhaps someone can assist on that part.... wink.png

Seems to me when I did install Mavericks, there was a bit of readjusting to do....

Yes, I think it might be to do with the TV settings, but not sure. Only downloaded Mavericks yesterday and tried using on TV today. I'm pretty sure it filled the screen before I made the adjustments to get a decent sized TV picture, and now I can't get it back.

Go to System Preferences/Displays. Toggle the Optomise bar to whatever you TV make is. Also check the box in the bottom LHS to show mirroring options. If you play with the resolution settings some resolutions will not fill your TV screen.

Thanks for that. I have tried fiddling with the resolution settings without success. The only thing that seems to work is unplugging the TV from the computer each time, which is a pain but at least I get my full screen back on the mac.
