How long can a baby stay in Thailand? They say until 14 years old, but no basis for the information heard. What type of visa for an American baby needed to go to Thailand? If the baby is granted a tourist visa for 30-days (visa on arrival), does it mean the baby has to exit every 30-days (visa run)?

To be on the safe side when you arrive, I would suggest the baby has the same visa as you.

This will avoid any awkward questions at the Immigration desk in Arrivals.

After that the baby does not need to do visa runs.

The Thai's are very sympathetic to children

Babies do not need a VisaRun , but check with Immigration, I guess the age line is around 7.

In 2003, the Immigration Commissioner decided that any foreign child may stay in Thailand – without being fined for over-staying – until he or she is 18 years old.

We just left the country on Friday with our 6 month old bby who has a 30 day stamp in her passport.

We have been in-country for around 90 days since our last trip, hence an overstay. Immigration at Don Muang said no problem until she is 14 years old. No need for another type of vise, they just stamp her out as normal. No overstay stamp, and no fine.

Dont worry. Its cool.

Could not find anything in writing which confirms the 14 or 18 years rule.

Probably it has to do something with the Definition of JUVENILE as applied in the national criminal justice system:

Thailand Over 15-18 years of age
