I have ben told, that the town about 50km from Phuket has a Muslim bombing a few months ago and it is getting dodgy for road bloc robberies in the national parks.

Is this true?

Which way do the buses goes these days ?

Bar Gossip, how did you guess !!!! But it got my attention. Was going to try something different to the Surat Thanie route and think I still will.

Be carefull of any other route I heard in the bar the otherday it was the only safe route to bkk :-)

And I have been told the moon is made of cheese. Sounds like I am living in this town or quite close to it, and it is 100% nonsense, should not be on a web forum. Rumours are born so easily.

Unless you are on a stagecoach, you will be fine as far as the highway robbers is concerned, in a car they cannot keep up with you.

Just been to Nakhon Si Thammarat for a few days. No encounters with villains whatsoever. Not even the ones in uniform.
