Looking to buy an all-purpose hair trimmer...

Featured Replies

When I moved here from the States last year, I brought my old workhorse hair trimmer set. It has a rechargeable, with a number of different heads - a hair clipper with adjustments for different short hair and beard lengths, a mini-shaver attachment and a nose and ear hair trimmer. This particular one is a Philips Norelco, and is my first choice - but it is giving up the giving up the ghost, and I need to replace it. I have been to numerous drug stores (where they are most often found in the States), barbers and beauty shops, etc. at the large malls and elsewhere, but have had no luck finding one. In a few days I am going to go from well groomed to shaggy if I can't find a replacement. Anybody seen what I am describing for sale anywhere here in Chiang Mai? With the plethora of things to be found here, it's hard to believe that one of these isn't available somewhere. I just moved here from Krabi, so as detailed coordinates as possible would be much appreciated! Many thanx.....

You'll find the best selection at Robinson's Airport Plaza on the 5th floor near the escalators.

I think there is one for sale as you describe on Secondhand Chiang mai via Facebook.

Or if it has to be new, try Lazada website. Great prices and service in my experience. Good luck

do not buy the braun cruzer series. says bead and head, could not cut my hair.

Thanks all - I just went crew cut last year, and it is just the thing for this climate. Glad to know the clippers are out there - I was having visions of developing the Duck Dynasty look without intending to. Or of having said clippers shipped from Seattle! Big help, all.....

there is a shop that sells to those in the trade that is a few doors before 'the riders corner'.

And a great shop it is too.... a possible alternative is to use normal hair clippers. Amorn Electronics have the Wahl brand at just 500 baht a set. Great for head and beard, but I wouldn't try your nasal hairs with them..... unless you got a really big nose. biggrin.png

They don't have barbers in CM?

I also found a hair clipper complete kit at Robinson's in Ubon last year, so you're likely to find it at other Robinson's branches too. I don't recall the brand name; I'm not at home right now. I'm completely satisfied with the performance. It was a bit expensive, at over 2500 baht.
