Chalerm warns EC to organise election or face jail term

At one point of my life here in Thailand I actually felt proud that I had met and shake hand with Chalerm and many of my Thai friends said that it was a great thing...
now if anyone asks me about it I just feel embarrassed that I ever thought that he was a great man!

Even my Thai friends, tho once who introduced me to Chalerm don't speak about him any more and they are current and former MP's for the same party. OK they are still friends/loyal with Thaksin but Chalerm is another thing!

As I have replied on other topics I just want to say:
I try to stay neutral in this because I have friends on both sides of this conflict and I am a foreigner. But its difficult because what they are doing is tearing the country I love apart!

Doesn't anyone have something to say in support of this guy? PTP supporters, please work a bit harder.

He is so difficult to defend, even for the most radical pro posters. If it is done then Suthep -yellows -dems would have to come into play to side track the topic.

You are right guys. He is impossible to defend, but at least we acknowledge this. His rantings as stupid as they are, are no more stupid than Sutheps. Chalerm's "I will arrest those seeking to overthrow the government" are just as laughable as Suthep's "next Wednesday is the final push when we over throw the government"

Have a good weekend my Red and Yellow friends wai.gif

Hello my Red friend. Your comments about Chalerm are true and interesting.

Has Chalerm arrested anyone significant regarding the "overthrow" of the government? Answer? No!

Yingluck has departed to the sanity of safe and secure malls up north. The PTP is in disarray and Thaksin is having daily meltdowns.

Has Suthep achieved anything? Well, he said he wanted Yingluck out and I guess he achieved that.

So, on balance, Suthep seems to be slightly ahead.

Chalerm is all wine and no dine or as our American friends like to say, "All hat and no cattle".cowboy.gif.pagespeed.ce.OqunRvp1aP.png

And you too have a wonderful crimson weekend. thumbsup.gif

Whatever did Thaksin see in this man ? Yes - he's a heavy - but can he think ? He's done far more harm then help to Thaksin's cause. He does it through blinding stupidity. He does it through outlandish threats. This statement - from the man who is convinced the Constitutional Court got it all wrong - doesn't merit analysis. It's just nuts.

Same as Jatuporn, idiots appeal to the masses because the masses can relate.

Isn't that what the EC is there for? to hold elections? So they don't want to hold elections because the Dems will boycott them (up to them) and the army will make sure that the police can't police them.....Chalerm has a point.

Chalerm supporter alert......!!!

Oh wait a minute, it's also a Millwall supporter. No one likes them either. Must be solidarity amongst the unloved.

Does that count?

..........."If the EC refuses to hold the new election, the EC members will violate the laws and will face jail term," Chalerm said...............

Is that the same jail as your son was supposed to go to for murder? This man really is a nasty piece of sh!t.

Your insultive post is the very reason why the Government remains popular. You insult the people who support them, believing yourself to be intellectually superior. Such comments say a lot more about you, than the people you insult.

Chalerm and true democracy at it's finest.

Exactly, how dare he call on the EC to organize elections. They are far too busy doing--- what is their job again?

Chalerm is NOT calling on the EC to hold elections. Chalerm is threatening the EC so that they do not have a meeting with the caretaker deputy PM!

Oh come on, I imagine that I am intellectually superior to 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999% of them - there may be one who is cleverer than me, but has been brain washed in the red villages Nb: that is just a maybe!!!coffee1.gif.

Perhaps the EC don't want to put their booth workers in any kind of danger also. If the Dems don't run there will be no election. It's as simple as that. There will be too many empty seats.

Surely by now the government gazette has been released.

So why is chalerm, also surapong, making statements on anything?

I suppose they're following the lead of their master in Dubai. A pesky court ruling never stopped him from running the show.

Posted

I would think it be more accurate to say that if Chalerm does not vacate his posts... it is HIM who is going to face a jail term.

If he is still claiming a salary from the nation's coffers, that is also theft and fraud..... Got to be worth 10 years at least.

I suppose it is all going to be left to the military to have to finally arrest him and Surapong... no bail (flight risks).

Read the article copied this part

"If martial law is declared, the military will run the operation to maintain security and the CAPO will not get involved."

and started laughing.

The CAPO has never been involved. Just a lot of talk from a group led by a devoted fan to ear medicine.

You're the one who's nuts. It's the job of the EC to organise elections. They don't do it. They are clearly in league with the network of ammart-supporters in the judiciary, armed forces, etc, who all consistently attempt to prevent the people's will from being exercised - through banning politicians for appearing on cooking shows etc. Virtually all the international press make this point. It is extraordinary that a few right-wing falangs in this country seem to have forgotten the benefits of democracy that our forefathers fought so hard for.

It would seem that "all the international press " also do not look pasted the headlines. Samak was banned for lying about being paid for said job. A job he should not have been doing and one he refused to stop.. therefore breaking the rules that other Pm's manage not to break.

What Thai forefathers fought for Democracy?

PS : It's the job of the EC to organize successful elections. It's the job of the government to listen when told that can't happen in this environment!

And to seek a solution .. all of which happened and was ignored by PTP.

It is somewhat disheartening that while some voice in this country call for mediation, others call for medication.

The EC can organise elections but it can't stop disruption by protesters. That's the job of the police and army. If they can't stop the disruption then organising an election is a waste of time.

It's worth remembering that the EC refused all offers of help, the army did clear the ballots at Laksi after their popcorn shooter did his rampage, it's not like they don't have the ability. Army let the protestors re-seize the ballot boxes, since they had no request from EC to free them.

EC decline all such offers and in the case of candidate registrations in the south, it closed them at the minimum permitted time, claiming the delay would affect the election schedule.

EC told the Bangkok stations to close at the first signs of a mob, and not reopen, which made it easy for PDRC to drive around closing polling stations.

It's been shameful and obvious, and clearly they won't be completing the Feb 2nd elections within the time limit of 180 days, the dissolution decree is still legal and still in force, at which point they will be in criminal contempt.

It's worth remembering the the EC frequently stated to need help from the government to be able to organise the elections. The police security forces failed miserably in January.

The Feb2 election were voided. They are no more. New elections will not be the completion of the Feb2 elections.

I can't find any reference to the EC refusing all offers of help but even if it were true the EC doesn't control the army the government does, or at least should. The EC organises and the police and army provide security.

What is it with some PTP/ THAKSIN supporters when they don't know the simple details like BNC not knowing the above or moonao not knowing R. Amsterdam is in Thailand .. you could almost think that they in fact are NOT residents in Thailand!
