Report Thailand Tightens Rules for Foreign Drivers: Tests Now Mandatory
I have been waiting to be stopped by a cop in Phuket since I had a Thai driving licence, I will slowly take out my credit card sized Thai licence and let him think he is onto a winner by the fact I am using a foreign licence and not the IDP, he will be disappointed when he sees the Thai licence. There are tens of millions more tourists on the roads in Phuket each year than foreigners living here, so of course the chances of the person he stops having a Thai licence is small, I will open the car window and smile as I hand it over. No pocket money today will be the case. -

(Hegseth) continued, “Many presidents have dreamed of delivering the final blow to Iran’s nuclear program, and none could until President Trump. Crime Two Thai Women Caught Sneaking Across Border After Gambling Losses in Cambodian Casino
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. Two Thai women have been arrested after attempting to illegally re-enter Thailand by climbing over a barbed-wire fence along the Thai-Cambodian border. The pair reportedly lost all their money gambling in a Cambodian casino and had to pawn their passports, leaving them stranded without proper travel documents. The incident occurred late at night on 21 June, when a patrol unit from the Burapha Task Force, under the Aranyaprathet Special Unit and the 12th Ranger Regiment (Company 1201), was conducting routine surveillance near the permanent border checkpoint at Ban Khlong Luek in Pa Rai Subdistrict, Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. The patrol team spotted two Thai nationals attempting to cross from Cambodia into Thailand through a barbed-wire barrier. The women were detained immediately and subjected to initial questioning. They were identified as Ms. Juthawan, a resident of Bangkok and Ms. Panadda, from Khon Kaen Province. Ms. Juthawan admitted that she had travelled legally to a casino across the border in April 2025 through the Ban Khlong Luek checkpoint, but after losing all her money gambling at “Holiday Casino,” she had to pawn her passport to the casino. Ms. Panadda confessed that she had previously entered Cambodia via a natural, unofficial route in August 2023 and had similarly found herself stranded after losing her job and gambling losses. Both women stated they wished to return to Thailand but lacked travel documents. They agreed to cross back illegally through a natural border route, which ultimately led to their arrest. Authorities have taken both women into custody for further legal proceedings. The Burapha Task Force reminded the public to refrain from using illegal border crossings, citing the risks to personal safety and the importance of maintaining peace and order along the frontier.
