Lite Beer
Huge illegal firearms seized in Samut Sakhon A seizeable cache of firearms and explosives and an ID card of a United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship guard were found in an apartment room of a Nakhon Ratchasima native in Samut Sakhon province today following a search by a combined police and army force. Following a tipoff, the security force raided an apartment room rented by Ms Chanthana Warakornsakul in Tambon Suan Luang, Krathumbaen district of Samut Sakhon. A subsequent search of the room unveiled one AK47 assault rifle with foldable stock and 777 rounds of ammunition for the rifle, one rifle mounted with a telescope and 38 cartridges, one M79 grenade launcher, one MP1 submachine gun with 48 rounds of ammunition, one carbine with 154 cartridges, one M4 submachine gun with 275 rounds of ammunition and a silencer, one pistol, eight improvised explosive devices, three hand grenades, 120 bottles filled with gun power, three cameras, a bundle of electrical wire, a UDD staff card and a UDD guard card No 3084.The suspect, Ms Chanthana, was detained for further interrogation to determine where the illegal firearms came from and where they were supposed to be used. phosphorescent
A good start and hopefully they will keep it up but I wouldn't exactly call it a 'huge' seizure.

Popular Post djjamie
Well done and it is great to see that now the army are in control of security that all these weapons are being found and confiscated. Just shows when you have committed and determined people doing the job how things get done. I take great solace in the knowledge that for every bullet confiscated is the potential of one innocent child or protestor that is saved. On another note - I see these are "3rd hand" weapons that were found with a "3rd hand" ID card and as reported in another article were to be delivered so other "3rd hands" could "disrupt" PDRC protests. CAPO and the PTP cannot be forgiven for allowing all these weapons to be allowed into Bangkok. It is simply a government allowing terrorism to flourish under the guise of democracy. What do you expect from Chalerm when he said he would protect the UDD . Expect from yingluck that retreats to UDD strongholds when she feels some heat. Expect from Nattuwatt that was a PTP minister and a UDD leader. Accused terrorists that need to be put away so no more innocent women, children and protestors are maimed or killed. I see no more attacks on peaceful PDRC protest sites since martial law has been implemented. These seizures of weapons are really stemming the tide. Thank you army. Thank you Prayuth. You are a savor of the people. Edited May 21, 2014 by djjamie

Isnt that amazing? The police must be hating this now the military is in charge. They actually have to do police work now. I would almost bet money, the RTP suddenly have many more leads, soon, on Who are firing grenades, killing innocents, including children.

Actually with both PDRC and UDD keeping excellent records of their guards and members, with just some simple keystrokes searching for "3084" they will be able to give more info on the related person than even his mother would know. To my mind, any firearms in the possession of such evil characters is a HUGE problem. Do you not agree?

Popular Post impulse
An M4 is a rifle, not a "submachine gun". It is not even an automatic weapon. The M4 has selective fire options including semi-automatic and three-round burst (like the M16A2 and M16A4), while the M4A1 has the capability to fire fully automatic instead of three-round burst Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M4_carbine Even the 3 round burst mode qualifies it as automatic. One trigger pull, multiple bullets....yup, that's automatic. And it's a scaled down version of the M16 carbines. That makes it a sub machine gun in some translations. Fookhaht
I'm wondering if the army had just enough intelligence coming in over the last few weeks for the general to determine that this was the time to strike out against the status quo, before the horse got out of the barn. Definitely easier to shut the barn doors before that happens.
Bkkbound
May not be a huge cache of weapons but it does send a huge message to the red thugs that playtime is over and the the big boys are in charge, this is not chalerms keystone cops, this is the military who have very quickly established they are in charge, will do whats required and we won,t know unless they deem it neccessry after the event.. A whole different and professional way to maintain law and order.. Where is Chalerm by the way?
