Police are investigating a report of an assault at the Emporium wine bar in Clitheroe.

Officers attended the bar at about 10pm yesterday (Wednesday, May 21st) and it was reported that a 23 year old local man had been assaulted by a 51-year-old man. He did not require hospital treatment.

Inquiries are ongoing and we are speaking to a number of people to try to establish the circumstances.

There are a number of differing accounts which we need to work through to try to establish exactly what has happened.

No-one has been arrested at this stage.

Most likely some minor scuffle, a push here, a shove there, the likes of which over one weekend alone, will occur hundreds of times up and down the country in and around pubs, and largely forgotten about by the following morning..

Moves is lucky Max Clifford is out of business or it would have been a "vicious, unprovoked attack'.

Don't know about the UK but very week in Oz some high profile football,league or union player, will have some alcohol fuelled, idiot mouthing off a them and physically trying it on to impress his mates.

The clown once sobered up then wants to lay charges and we have the merry go round of police enquiries ,court appearances etc etc.

It used to be banter and good humour.....some of us can remember those days.
