Hello,

I keep reading about how immigration is getting strict about the land border crossings. But then I just found this link

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/679721-good-news-for-holders-of-uk-usa-japan-germany-france-canada-and-italy/

This was just last Novembe(13)r and it said if your from a G7 Country that you could get 30 days at land crossings apparently

without limit.

Can anybody connect the dots here?

Well i think the thing is that with the way things work in Thailand there is alot that goes along with these press releases/ restrictions/laws that no one can really answer. That probably includes the people that work in the Thai govt. The press releases this month said that the new crackdown is focusing on people from Vietnam, South Korea, and Russia.

There is other stuff that nobody really knows. For example I know alot of people that work in surrounding countries and fly in and out alot each month usually for short holidays when they have time off from work. Starting in August these flights are going to be monitored. Do these guys need to make visas?

With all this haze and with restrictions that seem to do polar shifts in very short times it is almost barely worth it trying to stay informed.

The main reason for the recent actions is to stop people from staying here full time on visa exempt entries. And to a lesser extend those on back to back tourist visas.

For those that are working outside the country on a rotation should not be effected by any of this.

.

"For those that are working outside the country on a rotation should be effected by any of this."

You mean they should NOT be effected by any of this, right UJ?

Never a dull moment with this country(lol). I guess I can tell my colleagues that if they are accused of coming and going too often they should just point to their 1 year multiple entry business visas from Myanmar. Always a humbeling moment going through immigration and knowing that that other person has the power to detain you if they choose. I have always tried to be very polite in my life with cops and govt officials and so far no problems.

It hasn't changed. You still get 30 days.

If and when they want it, otherwise is 7 days or even entry denied.

Read threads before speaking in place of facts.

I have read in numerous news articles that you still get 30 days for a land crossing. The "change" is if you do it two times in a row on the second trip you will get only 7 days and told that you have to obtain some kind of a visa. Whether it is actually being done as reported is a whole other story.
