Army escorts Panthongtae to Bangkok house, not detain him: Army spokesman

BANGKOK: -- Troops have sent Panthongtae Shinawatra, the son of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, to his Bangkok residence in line with his own wish, Army deputy spokesman Col Winthai Suvaree said Sunday.

Winthai said Panthongtae was earlier staying in Chiang Mai and after he was summoned for a talk "to set a right understanding", he was sent to his Bangkok residence "in line with his wish".

Earlier, pictures of Panthongtae being escorted by troops were circulated in social networks, leading to speculations that he has been arrested.

So I wonder how this will effect Oaks' aspirations of becoming a politician/tycoon, following in his father's footsteps.

Great, let the Shin clan know that their little army of red shirts is no match for the real army. But these Shin won't just go away that EZ, the head of the clan is safe and money is not a problem. They'll be back I'm afraid not un;ess they cut off the money supply.

The future for Oak is not an issue, the family name is the issue , something on the lines of "Bank" , the brand is damaged beyond repair, The Shinawatra name has been on the best dressed list in Thailand for eons, the political aspirations for any family member would be looking grim, no more political involvement in Thailand's affairs would be a requirement, along side , stay low, stay quiet and don't raise your head. coffee1.gif

So according to the military, Oak flew into Chiang Mai and then asked to be taken to his house in Bangkok?

How nice of the military to help him out. Apparently his pilot couldn't take him straight to Bangkok?

So he is now shit scared of being in BKK.... welcome to the rest of your life Oak.... Not a single Shinawatra will be safe on Thai soil for the rest of their lives and will be constantly looking over their shoulders.

What a great life you all have in store for you.... well done daddy.

I seem to recall reading the same thing back in 2006, and after 2010...

Reading such posts one can almost believe the poster brought down the Shin clan single handedly

Personaly I hope he is OK. A child cannot help having been born into the family he has. He of course has no right to act ilegally though.

As long as he can continue his life without being used by other groups to try to support his parents cause he should have the same freedom that others have and that, especdially at the moment does not include the freedom to disrupt.

From mighty oaks little acorns grow.Let us hope that the resulting Oak does not suffer from the same blight that the parent oak suffers from. That blight being, trying to overpower everything that tries to stem its growth.

If someone criticizes the hypocrisy of the yellows, they are called red-farang. If someone criticizes the clown antics of the reds, they are called pro-yellow.

Really. How droll, and insipid.

Intellectual shortcuts are not just laughable, but asinine.

Resume rants.

The Shinawatras would be evaporated in a matter of time, which is a good news to the majority taxpayers.

He has already involved himself through his Twitter/Facebook rants, showing significant support for the Amsterdam ash-hole, so he deserves whatever he gets...!!

What's the point of opening these threads for "discussion" when as of today no discussion can be had?
