Can anybody help me with information on buses from Chumphae to Bangkok; where can I catch them from, what days / times do they run, rough prices, how long is the journey, any links to websites etc.

Am I better off catching a taxi? (easier, not too expensive), any phone numbers for English speaking taxi drivers you can send in a private message to me that will do the trip?

I tried using google but got no hits for Chumphae (got Chumphon) and Isaan is a big place so not sure geographically where the terminals are in relation to my current location.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Found a site (12go) just had to add the word Isaan after Chum Phae into the search.

For some reason I can't scroll down the page on my phone though? Looks like a trip to an internet cafe is needed.

Frankly from Chum Phae you'd be better driving to Khon Kaen & flying. Book enough in advance and you can get a sub 1000฿ ticket on Air Asia. The bus will be a 7+ hour trip....plus you're putting your life in the hands of an ever professional Thai bus driver!

"The bus will be a 7+ hour trip..."

6.5 hours from Khon Kaen using Nakhonchaiair (NCA).

They are one of the best bus companies in Thailand.

They have a bus leaving for Bangkok about every 15-30 minutes.

You can book online and pay with a credit or debit card, or call their call center and pay at 7-11. 420 Baht.
