Hello everybody,

I am from Vietnam and study in Thailand. My sister will engage with a Finn in July so now I am applying documents to visit them in Finland.

The embassy of Finland said that "If your student visa is like a resident permit you may apply a Schengen visa".

I don't know my Thai student visa can be considerd as resident permit or not? Please let me know soon if you have idea.

If you are legally resident in Thailand, and as you are on a visa that allows you to study so you will be here legally and have a Thai address, so you should be able to apply in Bangkok.

You are clearly not a tourist, who will be returning home shortly.
