How long does it take to get by bus from Pakse to Savannakhet in Laos

On public bus how many hours is the journey- on either a chicken bus or a coach. What times are either options departing from Pakse on a Sunday?

It could take half a day's travel. Departing times? Quite regularly and frequently, I imagine and seem to recall.

6-8 hours when I last did it. Very slow, with the driver poodling along and wanting to stop every hour or two for a meal in somebody's house. Need a very jai yen to make this journey.

there is/was a cambodian bus company who did pp to vientiane. dont know where the stop is in pakse or if you are allowed to board. was big modern bus.
