The adage "New broom sweeps well" fit perfectly here, the guy who sold the police those 2,500

or so wheels boots is the ultimate winner here... they soon going to get rusty and forgotten...

Law and order can be profitable. What does it cost to get a clamp off?

Yes one can't help but think that this is just an extra revenue exercise but if it clears some of the streets in the bigger cities, it's all good. The report states though that this will be nationwide, are the BIB really going to clamp the 'rot idan' out in the countryside? That I've got to see.

Makes you wonder why have they got that number of clamps when they only do 30 or 40 a day.

They had plenty stored is the govt warehouses, where they keep things they really don't want to use or have a hard time selling like rice, wheel-clamps, toilet paper, etc.

Give it a year and see how many they are clamping then. wink.png

A year hell........ I give it a month.

Less than a month for sure!

And pavement clearance, never going to happen.

Why should it not be a revenue exercise too? Just check London stats for the money made by local councils like Camden! Only question is who keeps the dosh?

Clamp biz is booming. Police needs to make up for the loss of bribes somehow now the soldiers are in charge of all the rest.

I wonder how the police feel now about doing police work

Hardly police work, I would think wheel clamping would be the responsibility of the city such as it is in most countries, police are usually only used for more important work than this, having said that this "clamp down" is warranted and good on the powers that be that have ordered it...
