After the huge success of the 2nd Bangkok International Soccer 7s and the 4th Phuket Soccer 7s Tournaments, we are proud to present the inaugural Pattaya International Soccer 7s, which will be contested on 8 & 9 July 2006, during the final World Cup weekend. Venues will be arranged where, after the tournament teams can watch the World Cup final and 3rd & 4th place game. What better way to watch the world cup, play a tournament during the day then sit in a great bar in the evening with cold beer and good company.

As we have had some withdrawals which leaves us with 10 teams now, we are looking for 2 teams to enter in the competition, so if you are interested thanks to contact us as soon as possible.

The first Pattaya International Soccer 7s was held at the Horseshoe Point Resort and Country Club on the weekend.

Ten teams from five countries, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand participated in this first tournament. Great weather allowed the tournament to be concluded in one day. Like the weather the action on the park was hot with the rules that include no offside and rolling substitutions.

After the pool rounds teams were separated into two categories based on their position on the ladder.

The bowl category was won by Webworks from Bangkok who defeated Taiwan Mongrels 2-1 in the final.

The Cup final and first Pattaya International Soccer 7s champion is Les Gaulois, also from Bangkok who defeated Tokyo International 1-0 in a very tight match.

Local team Pattaya City were unfortunate not to make the final when they lost to a golden goal in extra time in their semi final against Tokyo International.

This tournament will now become an annual event in Pattaya, similar to the tournaments in Phuket and Bangkok.

The next Thai Soccer 7s tournament will be held in Phuket island on the 25 and 26 November this year.
