FUNK :

Very little Funk ever posted on this forum, nobody wants to admit to wearing the clothes of the early 70's.

One of the great bands of this era that nobody has ever heard of.

Some great stuff there , especially the Lorraine Ellison and the Darrell Banks music.

Don't know if it fits into these categories but Jimmy Scott passed away a few days ago and as a tribute here is a great track from Twin Peaks soundtrack called Sycamore Trees . It is probably more Jazz than anything . It is ironical than in his death i discover such a singer.

Xen, i loved the Jimmy Scott, i also have never heard of him.I was about to post the exact same track you did with John Lee Hooker and Miles Davis, remarkable given all the choices, plus James Brown, but i think i will stick with that one.

One of my favourite Toots and the Maytals albums. Used to have it on a old cassette until it disintegrated in a car cassette player one sad night. Even though it is not on the linear notes i will put my money that is Eddie Hinton there on vocals.
