Belgium kick off their world cup campaign after a 12 year absence, with their current young squad being hailed as the country's 'Golden Generation'. The team are many people's dark horses and could far, given favorable seeding in Group H.

Talents such as Eden Hazard, Vincent Kompany and Romelu Lukaku are now household names in the Premier League and have excellent domestic seasons, with Belgium fans hoping they can carry their good form into the national side.

Algeria on the other-hand, whilst improving on the international scene have a pretty miserable world cup record, having failed to score in their last 5 World Cup matches - their last goal coming in 1986!

Belgium could really show what they are made of here and there could be plenty of goals.

Precious little interest in this one, eh ? It'll be interesting to see Belgium. Lots of talent and expectations. I'd like to see them cause some waves.

Looking forward to the game. On paper Belgium should have too much firepower for Algeria, especially as they only just scraped past Burkina Faso in the qualifiers.

Interested to see how Bentaleb, of Spurs, performs.

Of course Algeria can point to 2010 when they played out a goal-less draw with England - maybe that will be the extent of their ambition today.

What was Vertonghen thinking there??

Algeria 1-0.

Now that should make for an interesting game.

Same way he thinks at Spurs.biggrin.png

Not the first time Vertonghen has been beaten for pace.biggrin.pngpost-170460-0-45175700-1403023204_thumb.

At least he didn't pull the guy's shorts down this time!

Nothing less than a pathetic arrogance from Belgium. I feel for my Belgium friends and colleagues.so much talent. Almost as they took over the Dutch arrogance. Come on!!

Ok, 2nd half, lets see. Have a feeling its Hey we are loosing here. Shocker!

For the experts, when did he score last time?

I talked about Fellaini.

Anyhow, shape up, or get lost.
