Even if you thought that Brazil 2014 might have been just one tournament too far for what will be remembered as one of the finest internationals teams of recent years, few could have predicted just how quickly and spectacularly Spain football empire would have fallen.

The champions from 2010 go into this final group game against Australia sat bottom of their group, already elmimated from the tournament with a whopping big fat zero points.

This tournament has been nothing short of a disaster for Spain. Greats such as Iniesta, Zavi and Casillas will surely no bow out of international football, with their famous tika-taka style seeming to be but a distance memory.

Spain have conceded more goals in Brazil 2014 than they did in Euro 2008, World Cup 2010 and Euro 2012 combined!

Despite also on zero points, Australia have actually fared a little better than many predicted. They've not been the groups whipping boys (yet) and have shown glimpses of a potentially exciting future for the Soccerroos. Former Everton man and Australia legend Tim Cahill scored one of the goals of the tournament in the last match against the Netherlands.

Does anyone know what the story is with simultaneous kick offs tonight? Which game will channel 8 show? I doubt they have a red button viewer choice type setup! I want to watch the aussie game.

We Aussies are taking it seriously.

Have nothing to lose except pride.

If we play to our best, but lose ... I'm OK with that.

Give it your best shot and do us proud.

Australia can fly home after 3 defeats, with their heads up.

They displayed fine football, but had an impossible group.
