TheScribe Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I live in a rented house in a gated development on the edge of CM. Behind the house is a patch of empty ground that's part of the next development. On Sunday, a family drove their pickup full of rubbish (broken plastic and waste building materials etc) and dumped it right behind my house. I'm really not happy about that. I've got the number of the pickup and maybe I will contact my landlord about the problem. Surely dumping rubbish like that is illegal, but maybe I'll get into trouble if I start reporting it to landlords/cops etc. Should I just forget about it? Move house?
Tham1 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I would let the landlord know and if nothing gets done think about moving - that may give him an incentive to do something about, 2
GeForce Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 There is also a rubbish dump beside my place its called the Klong
Popular Post eyecatcher Posted June 24, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 24, 2014 Why don't you enjoy giving them what they deserve. If the pile is going to be the focus of the next tipping, dig a nice trench....2 foot deep should do it, infront of the pile. Cover with twigs, sticks, paper. Then watch out for the unsuspecting fly tipper back up until the wheels drop into your trench. Enjoy the frustration of them trying to rescue their truck. Take lots of photos and let us all have a laugh. 12
Popular Post ttthailand Posted June 24, 2014 Popular Post Posted June 24, 2014 If you see someone dumping just go out and take a photo. Make sure they see you taking. I bet they stop and get the hell out of there. There are laws against dumping. 3

There are laws against dumping. Yes, there are laws against dumping. You should report to your local area Tesibaan environmental protection department (don't laugh, there should be one). You will need to take some photos of the tippers with a clear shot of the number plate. We had this sort of problem a few years ago, have to say that the local gov officer did come round and did solve the problem in a relatively short time, well maybe not so short, think it took a month.
TheScribe Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 Thanks for the feedback, folks. I did get some photos of the perps and the matter is now in the hands of the landlord and the moo-baan management.
CMSteve Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Funny. Just make sure that it is not their land before you do this. We recently did some construction on one location and used some other land to dump the building material. It'll sit there for a few years until we do something with that land and most likely it'll be crushed into the ground. Point is, if it's their land, or ordered/allowed by the owner, then it's not illegal. Let your landlord deal with it, and it's not to your satisfaction, consider moving. roger1999 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 CM Steve, your post reminds me of a time when I was "dumping" some rocks and other natural waste from my parent's lawn to an empty lot across the street (also owned by my folks.) The guy in the house next door came outside screaming at me "have you got permission to dump on that lot?" Dad was nearby and had papers showing he owned the lot. Too funny at the time.
Maejo Man Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Just go out armed with a camera as suggested. I have the same problem on a vacant block right opposite my house, and I go out and snap them and the car registration, before they start tipping. They are usually gone in a flash. I know the lady who owns the land and she hates fly tippers.
