Looking for a entry-level camcorder in CM

Featured Replies

I went to two electronics shops... The big one heading from the moat on the way to the airport and at Central Kad Suan Kaew. They did not have any camcorders and only had a few cameras (expensive SLR). Invadeit has none listed. Seems everyone is using their phones these days...Me too, but need slightly better performance with focus and motion than my phone provides.

Any ideas where to get an entry-level camcorder ($100 range)

A few camera shops in airport plaza (including photobug) or central festival. They are all grouped together.

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

Note that some small photo cameras have a decent video mode. They would need to support:

* 1080p recording

* Optical image stabilization

* Allow zooming while taking video

* Come with a fast enough memory card to actually store the video.

The main thing that you don't get this way is good reasonable stereo sound recording.

You're still spending about $200-$250 on the above. But you also get a great photo camera.

Many bridge cameras(look like small SLRs but are not SLR) have video mode and usually its HD video. Take great photos and videos. Quite often have 18x, 30x optical zooms. I have not shopped for one locally but quite often appear in the UK at 5000 baht upwards. Some can zoom whilst you video, not all do.
