Rainfall Chart

Does anyone know if there is such a chart that would give the rainfall in a given area [province] along with a rainfall history of past years. I just have the feeling that we are way behind the rainfall that we should have had by this time of the year and would like to see a chart or graph comparing this year to past years.....

Anybody know of or have such a link????

There doesn't appear to be a single site that supplies the data at the level of granularity you require, over that length of time, it's more a case of piecing together data elements from different sources to understand the total picture - this site makes a useful contribution, especially if you click on "data".

It appears that you're wrong. ;)

Also, I think I've supplied this link before, also in a similar post with a similar premise last year.

Report for June isn't in yet, but as of May 2014 we're a little ahead in rainfall compared to the average, but by a tiny amount.

Check back in a day or two for the June report and year to date figure therein.

Thank you, I am always extremely happy to be proved wrong, by fact.thumbsup.gif

^ Excellent site!

So with that I think we can answer the question of this topic:

I just have the feeling that we are way behind the rainfall that we should have had by this time of the year

Average year to date rainfall for January through June is 374.7 mm. This year is 368.8.

So we're pretty much right on schedule, as the difference is not statistically significant.

(Just that May has been wetter than average and June has been dryer.)

Is that Chiang Mai city or province or? I glanced at some of the numbers but didn't study them, it seemed from that glance that CM was slightly ahead of the game but was the exception for the North.

Most parts of the country are way behind the avarage.

Another draught year ahead.

We are missing at least 200 mm since Jan 1 (Khon Kaen).

Chiang Mai seems less bad?

Totally depends where you are living in the province. At BWT, Hang Dong we have had virtually no rain for at least 3 weeks but people around the City,Mae Rim and north of the city report heavy falls. My rain gauge is very honest.
