Before when you purchased something on Ebay and got to the check out the login page from Paypal would appear in Thai. In the right hand corner, well hidden and in Thai only, there was a small drop down window where you could change the language to English.

Now that drop down window has disappeared as well, so only available in Thai.

Unless i miss something, this will be the end for Ebay and paypal for me as I refuse to type my password on a page which isn't in a language I can understand.

Paypal was already long time a pain in the arse, but this will be the final nail in the coffin for me.

Try changing your browser. Sometimes helps. Internet Explorer updates as do others and what won't work on one will work on another. Google Chrome is worth a try.

I don't think that the problem is with the browser, because until a few weeks ago the drop down menu was available in Firefox. Now it isn't available anymore, so something must have changed in the Ebay or Paypal policy.

You can't get into the Thai Paypal page unless you have a Thai paypal account, otherwise it redirects you automatically to the page of your home country.

The page that shows up in Thai is also an Ebay page in my opinion since the Ebay logo is displayed together with the paypal logo.

The whole Ebay buying process is in English, only the login page to Paypal is Thai only.

I just tried my Thai Paypal account, it came up in Thai but the language change is top right (in Thai of course).

Note this was by going direct to the Paypal site not via Ebay (and no Ebay logo), I bought something yesterday and the payment screen was in Thai but I didn't notice (or look for) the language change button then.

I'll check next time I buy.

The very small language change in the top right was in the past always available when checking out through Ebay.

Unfortunately not anymore.

I contacted Ebay customer help, but I guess it are the same people that work on the Truemove service department, because he said i need to change my regional and language settings on my computer. laugh.png

When I informed him that my regional settings are set to Location US en English is the only language installed, he didn't bother to reply anymore

I have informed the seller also about my reasons why he missed a sale, and he agreed with me about the unfavorable changes at Ebay. The more noise is made by sellers, the bigger the chance that Ebay and Paypal will be customer friendly in the future. I don't hold my breath for that though.

I just signed into my Singapore PayPal account and comes up in Thai as normal but in Chrome browser you have a pop up box at top right asking if you want translated - just click yes (often does not work first time - just do again when you get unable to translate) and will be in English. All linked pages will then be translated on-the-fly.

As this just happened with direct sign in to Singapore using a US VPN believe it is set by the mailing address of credit card I use for payment by Paypal and nothing to do with Ebay.

The popup box you're explaining about is a Google translate option.

My Ebay account, credit card, paypal account and mailing address are all in my home country .

I'm sure the page is courtesy of Ebay, because at that time they don't even know yet in which Paypal account you gonna log in.

Your PayPal account is a required field in the eBay account settings, so they do know which account you are about to sign into. If you wanted to pay with a different account, then you could sign into a different one if you wanted to.

It is clearly a problem with e-bay where it is merrily assuming that anyone who is in Thailand must be able to read Thai. The drop down to switch to English is normally always there when I'm working on PC, but I noticed that on the eBay app for my iPad, there is never a dropdown and I'm always forced to login with the Thai text.

PITA !!!

I think we should all start dropping notes to eBay and PayPal tech support and maybe once there is a critical mass, they will do something about it.

I am aware Google is doing the translation.

I signed into Paypal Singapore website - not Ebay - and Paypal directs to there Thailand location. Which has been the case for several months.
