Police bust a teenage motorbike theft gang

SAMUT PRAKAN, 9 July 2014 (NNT) - Samut Prakan Provincial Police have apprehended a group of teenagers who were members of a motorbike theft gang.

The gang members were responsible for stealing motorcycles across dormitories to sell them in exchange for narcotics and have confessed that they were responsible for at least 20 cases of vehicle thefts.

CCTV footage revealed that there were four teenage boys aged around 14 to 16 years old running amok to steal the motorbikes in the province’s Bang Pli District and other nearby areas. Police have confiscated a total of six new motorcycles that were stolen.

The gang members admitted that they would sell the cars for around 1,500 to 2,000 baht in exchange for ten pills of amphetamine per bike.

Police revealed that there have been several complaints made by locals against this particular gang.
