1" rigid foam mattresses in Chaing Mai - or gym padding/soft flooring tiles?

Featured Replies

Hello,

We found some great 1" rigid twin size sleeping pads (basically piece of foam wrapped in fabric) in Koh Samui and are looking here in Chiang Mai.

They can't be folded, but work really well for about 750 baht each or so. We've tried Big C, Tesco, Baan and Beyond and are not having any luck finding them here. They are propaby considered the poor man's mattress, but work great for us and also as floor and wall padding for our rambunctious toddlers.

Gym padding or those soft interlocking floor tiles would also work?

Any leads?

Thank you

the shop next to the bicycle store and wicker shop near the north east corner of moat.

inside the moat and facing north.

They will custom make 1/2 inch or 1 inch exercise mats. Or other coverings.

out of town, over Nawarat Bridge towards the railway station, about half way to the railway station, on the right. Various thicknesses, rolls can be seen out. Will cover however you like.

Just where i was going to suggest, i had several thai massage mats made there but 2" inch thick. they make the 1" inch thick which are generally sold as yoga mats but if you go in the back they have a showroom of such.

you can look at the foam quality, it does have different grades and you can choose the vinyl wrap cover.

from the road its just a den of inequity and not very inviting, but go in to the aladdins cave.

a 2m x900 mat in dense foam with zipped vinyl cover runs at around 1800bt.

the place naboo mentions, i also went to, they were more expensive and only offered the cheaper multicolour shoddy type foam, but for a thin mattress i dont suppose a few baht is neither here nor there.

Thank you so much for all recommendations. We decided to use the alphabet foam for the floor. We also went to the used store near Nong hoi market and bought a bunch of old wall sound proofing pads for the wall.

We probably need more and will look as your suggestions.

Thank you again!

We've bought a couple there. They will custom make any size. You choose the material (recommend vinyl for easy cleaning).

I'll have to take a run down there and look myself. I've been wanting a floor mat for my shed when I'm out working. thanks.
