Send personal stuffs to Chiangmai

Featured Replies

My husband and I went to Hualampong Station today to send 8boxes of our personal stuffs to Chiangmai. They are 90KG altogether. It costs us B620. We are amazed as we thought we might have to pay 2-3,000B for that.

Will be in Chiagmai the day after tomorrow but won't be able to pick our stuffs till Wednesday. Then I can see the condition of our boxes.

Wish me luck

They will probably be just fine. I know someone several people who have sent big motorcycles back to Chiang Mai this way -- no problem and surprisingly cheap. You don't have to be a passenger on the train to use this service.

I talked to them, last weeek regarding shipping a motorbike, and were told price is 20thb per kilo.

Actually the staffs are very nice. They asked if I had any electronics stuffs. I was about going to tell them a details, then they said "well, let us say there are all personal items. It's cheaper for you that way". When the other guys walked towards me and asked me the same question, he said they are all personal items :)

So, Cuddlycat, did everything arrive OK? I reread your post and realized you probably had some electronic items in your boxes. There probably is a good reason they charge more for electronics -- maybe they throw personal stuff around and are more careful with electronics. Hope everything was OK.

Hi, still in Bangkok. My friend and my husband will drive our truck to Chiangmai in an hour. I have to make another trip to Hualampong station with two more boxes.

Thanks for your concern. I made my own label saying "fragile" on too of every boxes even they are not. I'll pick all boxes , 10 of them tomorrow.

Hi Nancy, this is so cool. 45 mins ago I was waiting for a cab to pick me up to the airport, I've got a call from Train Station in Chiangmai to pick my stuffs. I say thanks to them but I have to pick them tomorrow as I am at the airport.
